The containers Arkas Holding gave as gifts to Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Fine Arts were turned into BGB Container Galleries. The first-ever exhibition of the Gallery is “Shell”, a ceramics installation exhibition from Dokuz Eylul University Fine Arts Faculty student Eda Ilbeyci.
The “Alternative Exhibition Space” project planned by the Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Fine Arts Dean’s Office, was brought into life recently thanks to the contributions of Arkas Holding. Thanks to Arkas that has donated 3 containers to the university with the aim of supporting young artists as part of its social responsibility projects, the container galleries are now filled with art. The three containers located in the faculty garden that are red, green and blue will be utilized to display the artworks of undergrad and master students of the university as well as the works of various young artists and designers.
The first ever exhibition of the “Arkas Container Art Gallery” that could be utilised for workshops, seminars and performances became the exhibition by Eda Ilbeyci. Regarding the “Shell” exhibition that will be open from 20 to 24 May, Ilbeyci said: “Wherever we go we carry our shell with us. The shell holds everything that belongs to us; our fears, joys, grief and hopes… Is there in fact hope? Or is it the desire to have hope? Our shell is the inventory of what we have been through; the things that we are left with, the things that are left to us. The exhibition is a mere part of my shell, it is whatever the meaning you attribute to it.”
